Computing
At The Nightingale Federation, we believe that computing is fundamental to modern-day life and has the power to transform learning experiences across the curriculum. Our Computing curriculum is designed to inspire creativity, develop essential skills for the 21st century, and, crucially, ensure children use technology safely and responsibly, with a strong emphasis on online safety. To facilitate this immersive learning environment, we are proud to offer per-pupil touch pad Chromebooks from Year 1 to Year 6, seamlessly integrating technology into learning across all subjects. This commitment to digital integration, combined with our Headteacher's active role on the DNEAT Trust AI Committee, demonstrates our forward-thinking approach to computing education and our dedication to staying at the forefront of digital innovation. Through curriculum-focused activities, creative tools, programmes, and games, we foster curiosity, empower children to explore the digital world, and develop crucial STEM skills. From Early Years, where children develop problem-solving, listening, and questioning skills, to Key Stage 1 and 2, where we use the "Teach Computing" programme, we provide a broad and balanced computing education.
