Physical Education
At the Nightingale Federation, we are committed to providing a high-quality physical education experience for all our pupils, with a vision to ensure all children participate, enjoy, and develop positive attitudes to physical education and sport. Our full-time qualified sports teachers deliver well-planned and structured PE lessons that are sequential and progressive, building fundamental skills through a multi-ability approach from Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 6. This includes developing competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities, being physically active for sustained periods of time, engaging in competitive sports and activities, and leading healthy, active lives. We also benefit from specialist coaching in cricket, swimming, and tennis, enhancing our broad curriculum offer. Our strong partnership with the West Norfolk and Dereham School Sports Partnership provides pupils with numerous opportunities to take part in competitions at school and county level, as well as festivals, giving them opportunities to experience new sports and achieve their personal best. This dedication to providing a rich and varied PE experience has led to success at county level, with finalists in cross country, cricket, and tennis.
